This is an absolutely wonderful, and hard to come by antique box long guard chain with star links. It is made from metal, (Not gold, or gilt) but the metal colour mimicks the appearance of gold well and it measures 56 inches. It weighs 28g and has a dog clip closure. 

The links of this chain are smooth and free of dinks. It has the very sought after star links which are now very rare, but which were extremely popular in the Victorian era. It remains in excellent condition and for anyone worrying about tarnishing - just have a look at the condition of this - given that its well over 100 years old!

Long Guard chains have been a fashion staple for many years, and and at this perfect length, they are highly sought after. Their versitility means they can be worn alone (wrapped twice or thrice around the neck), or in a stack with shorter chains.
