Embroidery on silk with gold threads having a headband configuration, typical of the period. This style was influenced by the headdresses of the Ballet Russe such as in performances of Scheherazade and the clothing designs of such designers as Paul Poiret. 

These headdresses are extremely rare to find in wearable condition, which this one is.  1910-1918
